Winter Is A Great Time To Buy A House
Probably the best time to buy a home is in the winter. This is when savvy home buyers and investors can take advantage of the low mortgage rates and less competition from other buyers.

Price increases generally begin in March as families look to get into their first home by summer vacation when school moves will be less hassle and many school sport activities are less frequent. Prices may be lower for home sellers, however, the sale process may be smoother as more qualified or experienced buyers use this time to find their next purchase. And for home sellers, there is less competition as the number of homes available is generally lower.

Typically buyers who are looking for homes during the winter season are more serious buyers. And as the selling season is generally slower, it results in more quality time with clients for going over the contract, negotiating transactions, and to tie up any loose ends within the transaction.

As it is usually colder, it is great for seeing the condition of the house as far as insulation, heating quality, and window or door drafts. And the usually lush green landscape does not block full view of the house itself. Yes, the curb appeal may be less, however, it does provide a clearer view of the property.

There are also fewer homes on the market which helps to reduce competition.
